ReIRABO is a reinterpretation of “irabo” glaze, an ancient glazing method often still found in traditional pottery such as Japanese matcha bowls or handworks by skilled potters. The uneven texture of glaze is the beauty of irabo, and it is celebrated as a unique character making every piece one of a kind. This technique is usually challenging to stabilize and handle for use in microwave ovens and dishwashers, however, after repeated testing, Yumiko Iihoshi has adapted her own original irabo glaze and developed a selection of modern tableware that pushes the boundaries between a handmade product and machine-produced. Every shape and size are well designed and considered for easy-to-use and fun to serve Japanese foods and many other dishes for your own dining set-ups.

Easy to match with any dishes of Japanese, Western or Chinese styles, the high rim gives a nice depth to easily fill with sauce, salad dressing, syrup, etc., assisting in a joyful experience till the last bite.

Available in three sizes;

– plate S –

A perfect size for side dishes and desserts such as nuts, fruits and ice cream, it can be used as a small serving plate for pickles, tofu, or dipping sauce, etc. The raised rim is easy to fill even with juicy ones, and it is easy to scoop the last bite with a spoon.

– plate M –

Ideal for serving fish or skewers neatly. It is a medium size that is easy to use for lunch, afternoon tea cakes, or side dishes such as stir-fried foods and salad.

– plate L –

The best size for main dishes such as steak, grilled fish or vegetables. With the advantage of its vertical length, it is also ideal as a large platter.
