Fort Collins fielded the Farmers in the Colorado State League beginning in 1898. Northern Colorado's agricultural roots shaped everything in that era, including its baseball. Representing a farming community, the team carried the identity of the land itself, giving folks common ground after long days in the fields. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Arched white serif text reads "FORT COLLINS" above a cartoon anthropomorphic onion character with green sprouts, a smiling face, and crossed grain stalks behind it, holding sheaves in each hand. Smaller white text reads "FORT COLLINS, COLORADO" on the left and "EST 1898" on the right. Large sage-green script reads "Farmers" with a white swoosh tail beneath, and white sans-serif text below reads "COLORADO STATE LEAGUE."
